About Alex
I spent my childhood wandering the woods behind my parent's Connecticut home, and then the many years after that getting as far away as possible. But still, I am happiest outside. I'm constantly torn between the deserts and mountains and jungles and oceans and I need many, many more lifetimes to properly experience it all.
I squeeze these adventures in between normal life as often as I can. But those moments where I can toss routine out the window turn me back into a chid: wide-eyed and eager and full of wonder. Whether I'm tracking an animal in the wild, huffing up a new summit, or waking up in a different city or park, this is where I am my best self. Adventure slows down the time. At least, that's the feeling I try to capture.
More than that, though, I believe it is incredibly important that everyone experience the natural world in order to connect to it, even if only through a screen. To me, photography is the best way to tell a story. I hope these images succeed in evoking the indescribable wonder I get every time I step out of my tent, and perhaps inspire you to explore a bit more as well.
